Nio (NYSE: NIO) has entered into a partnership agreement with a new company to jointly advance the construction of power-up facilities.

Nio Power, Nio’s energy business unit, signed an agreement on August 27 with the Chinese arm of Singapore-based hospitality operator The Ascott Limited to work together on building charging and battery swap infrastructure and enhancing user experience for both companies, according to a post the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker posted on its mobile app today.

Ascott is a wholly owned lodging business unit of Singaporean real estate giant CapitaLand Investment, with operations in more than 220 cities across more than 40 countries in Asia Pacific, Central Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the US.

In China, Ascott currently owns and manages over 200 properties in 42 cities, according to the article in the Nio App.

Nio’s and Ascott’s goals on sustainability are highly compatible, and the two will engage in multi-dimensional business expansion and innovation in order to share resources and enhance the user experience for both parties, the article said.

The two parties will jointly explore and research cooperation on ESG sustainable development, green energy facility layout, and corporate social responsibility, according to the article.

At the site of the signing ceremony between the two, Nio invited some Ascott customers to learn about and experience Nio vehicles, the article said.

In addition to the infrastructure partnership, Nio and Ascott will conduct a pilot program in Shanghai, where the latter will offer exclusive benefits to Nio owners.

Nio owners will be able to get a higher Silver membership directly when they sign up as Ascott members to enjoy more benefits, and Nio Power will offer exclusive benefits to Ascott residents when they test-drive Nio vehicles in Shanghai, according to the article.

In the future, the two companies will work together to create a map of travel routes, providing Nio owners with a reference for choosing hotels for their travels, the article said.

As of August 27, Nio had 1,696 battery swap stations in China, 466 of which are located along highways.

Nio also has 2,981 charging stations in China, providing 17,625 charging piles, and its charging map has access to more than 860,000 third-party charging piles.
